On March 21 2022, the European Anti-racism Summit took place for the second time.<\/p>\n

The summit was organised by the European Commission<\/strong> in Cooperation with ECRI<\/strong> – the European Commission against racism and intolerance of the Council of Europe and ARDI<\/strong> – the Anti-racism and Diversity Intergroup of the European Parliament with a strong involvement of civil society organisations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

It addressed the European Anti-Racism Action Plan 2020-2025<\/a> and\u00a0 it’s being implementation by EU institutions, Member States, civil society, equality bodies and grassroots organisations, all working towards a common goal: a Union of equality<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The two high level panels in the morning focused on the creation and implementation of National Action Plans against racism as well the participation of racialised youth in the fight against racism.<\/p>\n

In the four breakout sessions in the afternoon, participants dove deeper into different forms of structural racism and the root causes of structural racism itself. Focusing on racism in law enforcement, in education, environmental racism and an examination of the past about restitution and the decolonisation of public spaces, participants had the chance to interact with the panelist and ask questions digitally.<\/p>\n
